Some supporters of the Labour Party on Thursday fought one another over some money that was promised to them for attending the party’s mega rally in Abia State.

The supporters accused the party leadership and organisers of the event of diverting the funds.

The presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi was in the state on Thursday to flag off Alex Otti’s governorship campaign.

Sharing photos of his arrival in a tweet, Obi said, “I have arrived in Abia state for Dr. Alex Otti’s Governorship campaign flag off in Aba.”

Earlier, Otti tweeted about Obi’s arrival.

“Welcome to Abia “God’s own state” @PeterObi , Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, and your entourage. Ndi Abia are ready to take back their state,” Otti had written.

In videos seen by SaharaReporters, some of the Labour Party members could be seen shouting and struggling with one another as money was being shared with them after the rally.

“How much are they giving us here?” a party member who attended the rally was heard saying.

An old woman was also heard complaining that the coordinators of the rally had not given her “rally money and drink”.

The videos also show how funds were being distributed to some of those who attended the rally.
